The Delhi HC dismissed a plea of Unnao rape survivor seeking enhancement of punishment from 10 years to death penalty for ex-BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar over custodial death of her father. The court observed that she failed to show "sufficient cause" for condonation of delay of 1,945 days. Sengar was sentenced in 2020. He had raped the survivor in 2017.
