Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said after simplification of GST, government would focus on simplifying India's customs duty regime under its next big reform agenda. "We need a complete overhaul of customs...we need to have customs simplified for people to feel that it's not cumbersome to comply," she said. She said an announcement about it can be made in upcoming Budget.
