Thirty-year-old Lazare, who was believed to be the world's oldest dog, died in southeastern France on May 14, just weeks after the death of its owner. Lazare was taken to an animal shelter in April after its owner's death and was adopted by a single mother. She said the Papillon breed dog stayed lively and affectionate until the end.
