Gaming firms could reportedly face a tax liability of around ₹2.5 lakh crore after the Supreme Court upheld the retrospective 28% GST on online gaming. The government had raised tax demands worth about ₹1.12 lakh crore against 71 companies, which could rise further with penalties and interest added. Major firms facing tax demands include Dream Sports and Delta Corp.
