Govt reclaims 22-acre land from dumpsite in K'taka, to turn it into green zone
The centre has reclaimed nearly 22 acres of urban land from a 35-acre dumpsite in Karnataka's Raichur after processing 62,252 metric tonnes of waste. Under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0, the reclaimed land is being converted into a green zone, including a 5-7-acre Miyawaki forest. About 60,000 saplings have already been planted there to transform it into a sustainable ecological space.
