A fresh FIR was registered against TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee in connection with alleged attack on BJP leader Abhijit Das in December 2018. In his complaint, Das alleged that goons backed by Banerjee attacked him while he was on his way to attend party meeting. Das had contested against Banerjee from Diamond Harbour in 2014 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
