Govt considers mandatory phone location tracking; Apple, Google, Samsung object: Report

Central government is considering a telecom industry proposal to force smartphone makers to enable satellite location tracking that is always activated for better surveillance, a Reuters report said. Apple, Google and Samsung have opposed the move due to privacy concerns, the report said, citing documents, emails and sources. Users reportedly won't be able to disable the tracking.
