HRM-Text is a new one-billion-parameter, open-weight AI model from Sapient Intelligence. It uses a Hierarchical Recurrent Model (HRM) with strategic and execution layers instead of Transformer architectures. It was trained on 40 billion tokens over two days using 16 GPUs. It reportedly matches larger models despite costing only about $1,500 (₹1.43 lakh) to train.
