The government has asked Meta, owner of Instagram and Facebook, to ensure its recommendation systems do not repeatedly promote one-sided or misleading content. The government's advisory came amid protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and opposition parties in Delhi. It also called for better checks on old, edited or misleading videos that could create panic or incite violence.
