Weak monsoon could raise inflation to 5.1% for FY27: S&P Global

India's FY27 inflation may rise to 5.1% due to a weak monsoon and higher food and energy prices, according to S&P Global Ratings. The southwest monsoon is likely to be much weaker this year, with rainfall expected at about 90% of long-period average, S&P said, citing IMD. S&P added that it could also weaken rural demand and strain fiscal balances.
