India sets H2 FY27 borrowing at ₹7.86 lakh crore

The Indian government has fixed its borrowing for the rest of FY27 at ₹7.86 lakh crore, within the full-year budget cap. The RBI has sold bonds worth ₹1 lakh crore this year — its highest in over a decade — to manage banking system liquidity. Bond yields may stay elevated amid global uncertainty and persistent inflation.
