The armed man who rammed his vehicle into a US synagogue on Thursday had previously been flagged by US intelligence for having links with suspected members of Hezbollah. The suspect, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, had also lost his relatives in the Israeli strikes in Lebanon a week earlier. The FBI called the incident a "targeted act of violence against Jewish community".
