The Supreme Court criticised Odisha courts for making members of Adivasi and Dalit communities clean police stations as part of bail conditions. "The nature of conditions is so cruel and abhorrent that it has the capacity to project the Odisha judiciary as caste-biased," the court said, declaring them null and void. Notably, the accused had protested against a Vedant-linked project.
