Bengal women protest delays in ₹3,000 monthly Annapurna payments

Groups of women across West Bengal blocked roads and gathered outside block offices on Monday to protest the delays in receiving funds under the state's Annapurna financial assistance scheme. The scheme, launched by the BJP-led government in June, provides ₹3,000 a month to eligible women. The government earlier said 1.58 crore women had received the September instalment for the scheme.
