Taiwan receives 2 F-16V fighter jets from US amid tensions with China

Taiwan received the first two of a batch of 66 new F-16V fighter jets from the US on Friday. The jets are part of an $8 billion deal approved during US President Donald Trump’s first term. The aircraft arrived a week after Trump met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Washington. China has repeatedly urged the US to stop arming Taiwan.
