A parrot missing half its beak at New Zealand's Willowbank Wildlife Reserve has become the first disabled alpha male among kea parrots, winning every fight and getting priority access to food, a study said. Bruce remained undefeated in 36 recorded interactions, using his straight-edged lower beak like a sword. The finding challenges assumptions about disability and dominance in animal societies.
