India has strongly condemned the vandalism of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir located in New York, saying that such acts are "unacceptable". Visuals of the incident purportedly show expletives being defaced on the road and on signage outside the temple. The Indian consulate in New York has raised the matter with US law enforcement for action over the "heinous act".
