Explaining the origins of Maha Kumbh, the government said it all began with 'Amrit Manthan' thousands of years ago. Later, drops of Amrit fell at Haridwar, Prayagraj, Nashik-Trimbakeshwar and Ujjain where Kumbh Mela is celebrated every 12 years. "Maha Kumbh 2025 marks the completion of 12 Kumbh cycles and is returning after 144 years," said the video made by government.
