Italy's Giorgia Meloni trademarks her voice

Italian PM Giorgia Meloni applied for a trademark of her voice as Italy prepares for a potentially bitter general election campaign next year. Meloni filed the application with the EU's intellectual property office in an unusual attempt to protect herself from AI-generated deepfakes. Her application includes two four-second recordings of her saying, "Io sono Giorgia Meloni (I am Giorgia Meloni)."
