What is the Seeliger effect and how to spot it in India tonight?
The Seeliger effect is a temporary increase in Saturn's ring brightness around opposition, when the Sun, rings and Earth align closely. Saturn's icy ring particles cast shadows that become hidden from Earth, leaving more surfaces illuminated. In India, Saturn rises around 6:11 pm on October 4, reaches its highest point at approximately 12:17 am and sets around 6:23 am.
