Airbus on Tuesday said it would inspect 16 of its A380 aircraft, including five on an urgent basis. This comes after cracks were discovered in a critical wing component on planes operated by Emirates and Qantas during routine maintenance checks. The cracks appeared in a structural beam running along the wing that carries much of the aerodynamic load during flight.
