India-Japan planning to use yen-rupee for bilateral trade: Report

India and Japan are planning to use yen and rupee directly for bilateral trade transactions without the US dollar, a Nikkei Asia report said. It added this would reduce foreign-exchange conversion costs and shorten settlement times. The report further said the decision could be announced in a joint statement between the countries during Japan PM Sanae Takaichi's visit to India.
