UK PM Andy Burnham slams FIFA over plan to sell World Cup stake to private investors
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has criticised FIFA's plan to sell minority stakes in a new $20 billion subsidiary that would run the World Cup. "Football does not belong to investors," he wrote on X. He added, "The World Cup is not a product. It is the greatest competition in world sport, and it was never anyone's to sell."
