Incorrect, misleading: RBI on claims that current cheque books will become invalid

RBI dismissed a social media message claiming that the standard Cheque Truncation System (CTS) cheque books will change from December 31, 2026, and that new cheque books with updated security standards will take effect on January 1. "It's clarified that at present RBI isn't introducing any such measures…As such, the message is factually incorrect and misleading," the top bank said.
