Pune to get India's 1st digit-letter vehicle registration series 'MH-12 1A'

Pune could retain its 'MH-12' vehicle registration identity as the existing series nears exhaustion after reaching final 'ZZ' sequence. The Pune RTO has proposed a new 'MH-12 1A' format instead of shifting to three-letter sequence. The proposal has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways for approval. If cleared, it would be India's first digit-letter registration series.
