India has been elected to Vice-Presidency of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) for the first time. Union Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal has been elected and appointed FATF Vice-President for the July 2026-June 2027 term. FATF is the Paris-based inter-governmental body that sets global standards to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and the financing of proliferation.
