The Supreme Court allowed the Centre to extend the terms of chairpersons and members of various tribunals, who are due to retire soon, till September 8. The government said it's preparing a new tribunal law as the SC struck down key provisions of the Tribunals Reforms Act, 2021, in 2025. Around 21 members are due to retire in the meantime.
