The lower house of German parliament has passed a law that offers maternity benefits to women who suffer a miscarriage after the 13th week of their pregnancy. Under current German law, women are entitled to paid maternity leave starting six weeks before birth and continuing for eight weeks after birth. However, it doesn't apply in the event of a miscarriage.
