The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ordered Maharashtra restaurants and hotels to disclose any paneer substitutes or analogue paneer used by them starting May 1. The FDA added that vendors must "disclose this on bills, menus, and display boards" to ensure that consumers are not misled. Analogue paneer is a non-dairy paneer created by blending vegetable oils and preservatives.
