Nephew of BSP supremo Mayawati, Akash Anand, who was removed by her as her political heir and party's National Coordinator, holds an MBA degree from a London institute. The 28-year-old returned to India in 2017. He made his debut speech during the Lok Sabha campaign in 2019. He is married to Pragya Siddharth, daughter of ex-BSP MP Ashok Siddharth.
