The IMD has released a list of cities in India which recorded maximum temperatures above 40°C on Wednesday. Maharashtra's Akola recorded the highest maximum temperature of 42.0°C. This was followed by Brahmapuri (41.9°C), Prayagraj (41.6°C), Chandrapur (41.2°C), Jhansi (41.1°C), Rajnandgaon (41°C), Hoshangabad (40.9°C) and Chittorgarh (40.5°C). Delhi's Ridge recorded 40.1°C.
