Ex-Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian criticised the different GST rates announced for popcorn by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. "This is a national tragedy, violating the spirit of the Good & Simple Tax the GST was meant to be," he said.
