Norovirus, the common stomach bug, is highly contagious, spreads on surfaces and through the air, and people can catch it every year. In the US, the CDC says so far there have been at least 91 outbreaks reported since December's first week. Doctors say norovirus is notoriously difficult to clean because it can stay on surfaces for weeks to months.
