After UP CM Yogi Adityanath praised the boatman's family that earned ₹30 crore in Maha Kumbh, SP Akhilesh Yadav said the truth of this news should be investigated. "If a family has really earned ₹30 crore...tell us how much GST was received," he added. Reacting to it, UP government said boatmen were among "biggest beneficiaries" of the 45-day religious event.
