Top Pakistani economist Manzoor Ahmad slammed PM Shehbaz Sharif after the India-US trade deal's announcement. In an article in Pakistan's national newspaper Dawn, Ahmad said Sharif never made "serious effort" to negotiate a deal with US and instead relied on "seeking unilateral tariff preferences or proposing narrow...symbolic arrangements". He said Pakistan and US have "fig leaf agreements".
