The US reportedly urged Israel to launch a unilateral strike on Iran during discussions over the past two weeks before it backed off, according to Israeli media reports. US withdrew the demand after Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir warned that an attack would likely disrupt the country's election schedule. Trump had said he wouldn't strike Iran until US midterm elections.
