The 297 smuggled antiquities that US returned to India during PM Narendra Modi's visit include up to 2,100-year-old terracotta plaques, a male deity's 1,000-year-old statue from J&K and an apsara statue from central India. A bronze Jain Tirthankara statue, a hand bell from south India, and a 2,300-year-old anthropomorphic figure were also returned. Many antiquities were made of terracotta.
