As many as 100 people were there on the dance floor when fire broke out there, an eyewitness of Goa nightclub fire said. In an attempt to escape, some of them ran downstairs to its kitchen (basement area) where they got trapped along with the staff, the eyewitness stated. Notably, 25 people were killed in the incident.
