If the 8th Pay Commission applies a fitment factor of 3, minimum basic pay of central government employees would triple across levels. Level-1 would rise from ₹18,000 to ₹54,000, Level-4 to ₹76,500, Level-5 to ₹87,600, Level-7 to ₹1,34,700 and Level-8 to ₹1,42,800. Employee unions have demanded a fitment factor of 3, however, the government has not finalised the fitment factor.
