SC agrees to examine plea seeking recall of split verdict on CEC selection law

The Supreme Court agreed to examine a plea seeking recall of its September 23 split verdict. The verdict was delivered on whether challenges to 2023 law governing appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Election Commissioners (ECs) should be referred to a larger bench. Justice Dipankar Datta had held that the matter didn't warrant a reference to a larger bench.
