Amazon imposes 3.5% surcharge on third-party sellers as Iran war pushes fuel prices higher

Amazon will now impose a 3.5% "fuel and logistics-related surcharge" to the fees it collects from third-party sellers, as the Middle East war has driven oil prices higher. Effective April 17, the surcharge will apply to sellers in the US and Canada. Amazon called the surcharge "temporary" and said it was "meaningfully lower" than levies applied by other major carriers.
