Over 300,000 turtles arrive at Mexico beach for mass nesting event

Mexico's Pacific coast saw the arrival of over 300,000 olive ridley sea turtles within 48 hours for a mass nesting event. A Playa de Escobilla Sanctuary official said the hatchling survival rate has been falling due to climate change. "Rains are no longer occurring, temperatures are elevated...[leading to] high temperature on the beach and very little humidity," the official added.
