Marathwada women abandoned by families tie rakhis to each other

A group of women in Maharashtra's Marathwada region who are widowed, separated or divorced from their husbands or abandoned by their families tie rakhis to each other. The group, which began with a handful of members, has expanded across 40 villages with 300 members and has continued the practice since 2023. The women meet each month and help each other.
