Voltas on Monday said it has received a demand order worth ₹23.5-crore from a Maharashtra customs body over alleged misclassification of some imported goods. This includes payment of differential customs duty of ₹10.76 crore and a penalty of ₹12.76 crore. Voltas said it is analysing the order and will file an appeal before the customs appellate tribunal, CESTAT.
