Coal mine-themed Durga Puja pandal in Kolkata depicts miners' hardships

A Durga Puja pandal at Thakurpukur SB Park Sarbojanin in Kolkata's Behala has recreated an underground coal mine to highlight Indian miners' hardships, working conditions and contribution to society. The pandal depicts Goddess Durga as a labourer, theme artist Arpita Sarkar said. Around 40-50 workers spent four months building the pandal, while another two months went into crafting the idol.
