In a relief to 61-year-old pilot Jeetendra Krishna Varma, the Bombay High Court quashed a 2011 DGCA order suspending his licence, calling it "illegal" as he wasn't granted a hearing. Varma reportedly lost his job, marriage, and custody of his children, and had to move to his father's Gujarat home after he could no longer afford to live in Mumbai.
