OpenAI shuts down team responsible for identifying catastrophic AI risks: Report

OpenAI has disbanded its preparedness team, which was responsible for identifying and preparing for catastrophic risks related to AI models, FT reported. Team members have been reassigned to other teams, where they will work on specific areas of preparedness, such as cyber and biosecurity. This comes amid several top-level exits at the startup, including that of its head of ethics.
