Sixteen-year-old Syndrela Das recently defeated her childhood idol and four-time Commonwealth Games medallist Manika Batra 3-0 in her maiden Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) edition. Despite the defeat, Manika said she was "really happy" with Syndrela's performance. Syndrela, meanwhile, said, "I respect and love Manika di a lot. I feel great that she thinks Indian table tennis is in good hands."
