Sameerah Munshi, who resigned from US President Donald Trump's Religious Liberty Commission in protest against the US government's "illegal" war against Iran, was the sole Muslim woman on the panel. Munshi was working as a policy adviser on the commission and was appointed to the panel by Trump in 2025. She is a recent graduate of Brown University.
