Protests over Siang dam survey turn violent in Arunachal

Protests against a survey for the 10,000-MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project in Arunachal Pradesh's East Siang district turned violent on Wednesday. Demonstrators blocked roads, clashed with security forces, vandalised MLA Alo Libang's residence, and set a police vehicle ablaze. CM Pema Khandu left by helicopter after completing official meetings in Yingkiong.
